You can share your QR code in advance if you 1. select a custom code word and 2. launch your event and screenshot your QR code. Even if you end this event, as long as your code word remains the same for your live event, your QR code will be the same as well.
Note, selecting a custom event code is a premium feature.
How to select a custom code word to generate your QR code in advance
Go to the deck you'll be running and select the "Start an event" button, pink top right.
2. A modal will appear with an "event code" field.
Type in your code word, to ensure it meets the parameters needed (good length, no special characters, etc).
Note, you'll need an upgraded account to type your own code word.
Notes for good code words:
Select a word at least 5 or 6 characters long and that is specific to you / your organization. Make sure it has more letters than numbers (eg. ABCD123 is good, ABC1234 is not).
3. Launch your event. You will be taken to the "join screen" where you'll see a QR code and your custom URL.
You can take a screenshot / make an image of your QR code from here, to save or print for your group.
You can then end your event (red X bottom right) if your event is a ways out. You can also leave it live; events will stay live for up to 24 hours or as long as responses are being sent.
4. When you're launching your real event, ensure your code word is the same as the one you selected when you took the screenshot of your QR code. This is the link the QR code will direct your players to.
