Internet connection issues: VPN blocking loading

If you're having trouble loading your decks page, your decks themselves, or your joiners are unable to connect, this may be a VPN issue

If you cannot launch an event (the site doesn’t load, you can’t see your decks, and event will not launch when the launch button is clicked), this may be a VPN issue — the site is being blocked by the internet browsing policies of your location's wifi.

Confirm the issue is caused by a VPN

If you're not sure, you can check this by simply connecting to a different wifi, and see if the problem persists in the same way.

  • Log in to your SlidesWith account at home on your personal wifi

  • If you're at work, switch to a different wifi connection.

  • If another wifi isn't available, you can turn off your computer’s wifi entirely and tether your phone's data to your computer to connect your computer to your phone's internet. Here's steps for Android and Apple.

If you join a different internet connection and are able to load the page doing this, that means the issue is possibly your company or school’s VPN / browsing policies.

To resolve a VPN issue

  1. Contact the IT department of the location in advance of your event

  2. Request the following:

Please Whitelist the following domains for HTTP and HTTPS and in addition make sure that Websockets are not blocked for graphql.slideswith.com on port 443

Domains to whitelist

slideswith.com

auth.slideswith.com

graphql.slideswith.com

This should whitelist slideswith.com to run on this internet connection.
