A "type in your answer" interaction

What it is: A slide that asks a question but doesn't give answer options to choose from, instead your audience types their response.

What to use it for

These slides are best for quizzes, trivia questions, exams, and anywhere else there is a fixed answer that is short and clear enough to type in.

How it works

This slide has multiple steps. Each step will display one by one as you advance the slide during your presentation.

Step one: "Question"

Display your question or prompt text.

Step two: "Submit Answers"

Here you type in the correct answer(s) to your prompt question. You can add up to six (6) answer options or variations.

How answers are scored: The system will determine if a response is correct or incorrect by comparing it to the answer(s) you have input on the "submit answers" step. The system gives your players a margin of error (eg. so if the answer is "neighborhood" and they spell it "nieghborhood", it would still be correct).

"Correct answer entered" and "No correct answer extant"

If you see a red !on your "Submit Answers" step, this means you haven't entered a correct answer option, but have the slide set to be scored (see the Settings options below).

If you don't enter a correct answer, the slide won't score your players. You can use this slide "unscored", to just ask general questions that have no correct answer, and show who entered what answer (see next "Responses" step).

Step three (optional): "Responses"

In a live event, this step shows who guessed what. It reveals participants' avatars on the answer option they selected. You can hide this step by clicking the eyeball icon toggle.

Step four (optional): "Correct"

The correct answer — removes all the other answer options to show only the correct answer(s). You can hide this step by clicking the eyeball icon toggle.

Large groups

You can use the Text Answer slide to display responses from your group, for eg. a Q&A or brainstorming session.

For large groups, your display screen will show up to 6 answers, to ensure each response is readable on the main display.

On a joined device, all responses will be viewable by scroll:

Slide Settings

This is a scorable slide, meaning there's a set "correct" answer and you can add a point value to be awarded to those who select it. Learn more about Points and Scoring.

You can also set a timer on this slide. Learn more about the Timer.
